An idyllic setting in the heart of the Normandy countryside
Le Pommenial de la Hérissonnière is a property of about sixty hectares of meadows and woods at the birth of a small valley that offers a bucolic perspective. The landscape – typical of the Pays d’Auge – is unspoilt, lush and criss-crossed with hedges. Some outbuildings surround the manor house, remnants of the original farmhouse, such as the cellar, the stable or the bread oven.
The wooded garden, with its shrubs and perennials, offers walks and relaxation. Pear trees more than two hundred years old complete this rural environment.
The Pommenial de la Hérissonnière offers a starting point for pleasant walks or bike rides along marked trails, or for visits to this region particularly rich in manor houses and gardens.
Guests have been staying at La Hérissonnière for six generations. Their itinerary inspires them with an art of living that borrows both from local tradition and from memories of escapades and encounters.
Accommodation combining comfort and authenticity
Since 2005, Le Pommenial de la Hérissonnière has been offering accommodation in self-catering cottages or rooms with breakfast. The restoration and the layout of the premises have been thought out with the idea of combining modern comfort and respect for the old buildings. Particular care has also been taken with the furnishings: no Swedish standards, but the assumed choice of a decoration made of real rustic or antique objects and furniture which have kept all their patina and their life experience.
Wellness treatments in an old apple press
Le Spom, spa of the apple and the Normandy soil, offers you treatments in an old half-timbered apple press, entirely restored with natural materials. The earthen plaster, panelling and parquet flooring create an exceptionally pleasant atmosphere and a serene atmosphere conducive to relaxation.
In this offbeat setting, rustic furnishings and the equipment necessary for wellness services are combined with an environment in harmony, in the middle of apple trees and on the edge of a valley with the forest as a horizon.
This is where you will (re)discover with curiosity and delicacy the benefits of the Normandy soil: the apple and the apple tree, but not only because we have recently developed a range of treatments based on hay…
